Peter and the wolf

This is what michael read/recited to me tonight..it's the 1st page of the book before the story starts and has a round circle for each character with their picture in it and them playing the instrument.


Michael: " Peter and the Wolf is a musical fairy tale in which each character is played by a different instrument of the orchestra: Peter by the violins and all the string of the orchestra, the bird by the flute, the duck by the oboe, the cat by the....mom what is it again"

me: ...a clarinet

Michael: "....the cat by the clarinet, the grandfather by the...mom what is that again"

me: ...a bassoon..

Michael: "the grandfather by the bassoon, the wolf by the french horns, the hunters and their gunshots by the kttldrums.....how do you say it

me: "...kettledrums...

Michael: "the hunters and their gunshots by the kettledrums and the big bass drum."


along with several other quotes throughout the book, but this monologue really floored me!

Daddy: Yes
Michael: Is it raining at my school?
Daddy: Yes
Michael: Is it raining in California?


Michael: "Don't worry Daddy I won't pinch your boobie, they're not HUGE like mommy's"
.............now we are finally worried about what he might say at preschool
